Charles Adam aka Karl or Carl emigrated to the US from Bavaria, Germany. I don't know the year but their first child, Rachel was born in NY about 1841, followed be Louise 1843, Hanna (Lena) 1845 and Elizabeth born in 1847. I found them in the 1850 census living in Newark, NJ. There they added three sons: Henry b. 1850, John b.1865 and William b. ? Charles was married to Maria Gloss also from Bavaria.
