I am a descendant of the Adairs from Ireland, going back to WILLIAM ADAIR Esquire, d. 1626 (1852 Burkes Landed Gentry , Adair of "Bellgrove") who m. Jane Lindsay (dau. of E. of Crauford).
Their 1st son, SIR ROBERT ADAIR was the first one I have mentioned.
Their 2nd son, bro of Sir Robert Adair,was ARCHIBALD ADAIR who came to Ireland. Was Dean of Raphoe 1630. Bishop of Waterford 1641. d. Bristol 1747. m. Helena Campbell.
He was my ancestor.
