I understand that a box was found a number of years ago which contained Civil War letters written by Abner Ellis Adair of Jackson County Missouri. My Mother was told of its existence but was not able to locate it. She was told that it went to an Adair Family but not descendents of Abner Ellis Adair. If there is an Adair out there who has this box, I would appreciate it very much if they would contact me so that the 5 great grandchildren of Abner Ellis might at least have copies of the letters. We descend from Abner Ellis' only child, A.J. Adair.
