Bob, Varnard definitely is the name I got from my mother's family records. William M. Adair sold his house in Sterling, KS to his niece, Margaret Eliza Moore (wife of Robert Finley Wilson, and my grandmother) in 1919. He continued to live there for some time, and the Wilson family called him "Uncle Willie." I don't know anything about where Nina was living in the 1920 census, and I don't know where mother got the info that "Blanche" married Newt Varnard -- mother wrote a lot of family records, but she never documented any of them. Like you, I've had no success finding anything about Newt Varnard.
