In March of 1791 there were several letters in the Augusta, GA Chronicle and Gazette from Edward Adair and his wife Margaret printed as public record. Apparently they were having problems, and in fact, Edward was a Scots-Irish trader, living part time in the Cherokee Nation, and fathered a child that year by the daughter of another trader, Walter Scott. He also had a residence in SC, however apparently he had married Margaret --- in Pennsylvania. Would this be the Margaret Adair of your posting?
