p. 28 in a discussion of kinship links: " Black George Macartney's son Isaac married the daughter of William Haltridge, a wealthy Dromore merchant..."
footnote regarding Isaac Macartney's land acquisitions in Ireland : "Macartney later acquired property in Counties Down and Armagh which had been bought by his father-in-law, William Haltridge of Dromore."

of all the holms of Drumore in the parish of Kirkmaiden, Shiredom of Wigtown, for a period of 21 years, reserving to Sir Robert Adair the CASTLE with all the rooms therein, together with stables for the use of his horses whenever Sir Robert Adair shall come to reside at DRUMORE ;

Sir William Maxwell was executor of the will of Houston of New Castle County, Delaware, America,
and of Cottreoch, Whithorn, Wigtownshire.These Houstons went to Ireland with William Adair, father of Sir Robert Adair and they shared with them a quarter of various lands.
William Houston and wife, nee Vans, were granted denization
about AD1624 with Adairs.
