The Rev William Boyd, who went to New England to see Governor Shute in 1718, came from Aghadewey / Aghadowey on the road from Limavady to Ballymoney in Co Antrim. Aghadewey is about 6m. S.of Coleraine and 10m. E.SE.of Limavady. Rev Adam Boyd (1666), also from Ballymoney, and wife Mary Norton had two sons: 1. John Boyd 2. Rev. Adam Boyd (1692-1758) of Ballymoney, Co. Antrim served Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church in Lancaster Co. PA and m. Jane Craighead, dau of Rev. Thomas and Margaret Wallace Craighead of White Clay (hundred). Rev. John Cuthbertson, a pastor of the Octoraro Presb. Church in PA. in the 1750's, (perhaps after Rev. Adam Boyd), kept a journal, extracts of which were published as "Register of Marriages and Baptisms". In 1754 he was at the home of Walter Moore and baptized Sarah Moore (whom he later married ?), Elizabeth Leech, and Mary, all daus of Walter Moore . (Eliz. Moore m. Leech ?) Around 1750 Walter Moore lived on Pennypack Creek, 2m. from White Marsh Church and 15m. from Philadelphia, had dau Sarah Moore, who m. Rev. John Cuthbertson, pastor of Octoraro Presbyterian Church. There was a Walter Moore (1798-1861) with Alexander Moore and other Moores buried at Bethel cemetery near the Leech (sometimes spelt Leach ?) property in SW York Co. SC. ................................... There was a Major Hugh Caldwell, of Segorry, Aghadowey m. (date.............. ?) Margaret Jane Adair (dau of ....?) There was a Hugh Caldwell (of Aghadowey ?) on the 1669 Hearth Money Rolls. William Blair m. 1718 Mary Gray (at Aghadowey ?) Sarah Blair m. John Ferguson (at Aghadowey ?)
