re: Jean Adair who m.1760 Andrew McCutchon of Leigh Corrochtree (next to Corghie, Parish of Kirkmaiden, Wigtownshire, Scotland) and emigrated to America.
Andrew d. 1804, 80yrs in Saratoga, N.Y., bur. Bacon Hill cemetery.
For a connection to Robert Adair in 1641, you may have to go back to Robert's grandfather, Ninian Adair who m. Miss Gordon, and had a younger son James Adair. His descendants appear to be of the "Corgie" lineage.

GD141/327 9 Jan 1722. Disposition by Robert McMulmun (McMun) in the parish of Drumboe, co. Down, N. Ireland to John McMum in Portnessok (near John McDowall's estate of Logan, see 1782 map), of a croft called St. John's Croft, presently possessed by John McMun elder, shoemaker there, lying within the lands of Garrachtie of Logan (not Corrochtrie which is a little further south next to Corghie). Witnesses, John and William Kerr, merchants in Stranraer, John Rutlidge burgess there, and James McComb mason there. Written by Robert Kerr, Town Clerk of Stranraer.
c.1677 Andrew McDowell of Corrochtrie was brother of Patrick McDowall of Logan.
GD141/211. 2 June 1670. William Adair of Corghie, marriage contract with Anna McDowell, sister of Patrick McDowell of Logan. Infeft Anna for life in the 5 merkland of Corgie, Parish of Kirkmaiden, Wigtownshire.
GD141/235. 6 July 1677. Obligation by Andrew McDowell of Corrochtrie to his brother, Patrick McDowell of Logane. Witnessed by William McDowell of Garthland and Patrick McDowell of Freugh.

Witnessed by William McDowell of Garthland, Patrick McDowell of Freuch, Alexander Adair of Drummore (son of Sir Robert Adair mentioned in another source in 1641), and James McKittrik, writer.
18 Feb 1696. Retour, Alexander McDowell of Corrochtree, son and heir of dec'd Andrew McDowell who d. 1687. Witnessed by Robert McDowell, younger of Logan, William Adair, elder and younger of Corghie (probably of the Jean Adair who m. Andrew McCutchon family) and Rev. Andrew Ross of Glenluce (see connection to Ross family). There was also a Rev. Patrick Adair of this lineage who had a son, William Adair, secretary for Virginia. Also related to Dr. John Adair who was with Wolfe in Quebec, was with George Washington, and who was granted land in Albany (may have been forfeited).
GD141/350. AD1788. Amongst persons named were Isobel McDowell, sister of John McDowell of Logan and spouse of Rev. Andrew Adair of Genoch, Minister of Whithorn, Wigtownshire.
