Was James Adair son of James Adair of Corghie who d. 1634 ? Was this the same James Blair who was granted Irish Denization 22 June 1615 ? In 1642 there was a James Blair, Captain of the Earl of Leven's Regiment in Carrickfergus (PRO State Papers SP 28/120) There was also an Alexander Blair, granted Irish denization on the same day as the above James Blair - would Annabella Blair who m. James Adair have been daughter of Alex (not Allen) Blair ? On 28 Nov 1617 Alexander Blair of Bangor (nr Belfast) and Hugh Blair of Ballyshenog were granted Irish denization. In 1659 there was an Alexander Blair was in Maghera, co Londonderry. In 1642 there was a Bryce Blair, Capt. of (Montgomery ?) This may be about when Blair acquired Dunskey from Montgomery ? Were James and Alex / Alen Blair sons of Robert Blair of Irvine / Dunskey , and Anna Adair nee Blair dau of Blair of Dunskey ? On 20 May 1617 John Blair of Carrickballidone was also granted Irish denization. In 1642 Sir William Blair was a Captain of Maj. Gen. Robert Monro's Regiment, Carrickfergus.
