There is a book by W.W. Harllee titled "Kinfolks" with a lot of Cade information in it. The book is in three volumns. Most libraries in the SC and NC area should have the books. On page 1156 (can't remember the vol.) there is mention of John Cade 's father-in-law, James Adair. The book gives further info. on Harllee's sources. This book is out of print now, but a wonderful resource for any genealogist who can find a copy in their libraries.
