re: 8th March 1721, Robert Adair purchased "Hollybrook" , town and lands of Kilmekanoge, (Kilmacenogue) co. Wicklow, Ireland, from Col. Edward Wolfe (of the family of "Wolfe of Quebec" fame). In the Quebec, Canada, Archives at : http:// pistard.banq.qc.ca/unite_chercheurs/recherche_simple There is a letter, ref. P1000, S3, D8 27 September 1752 James Wolfe, b.? 2 Jan 1727 - d.? 13 Sep 1759,(Commander 1759) (son of ?) Edward Wolfe and Henrietta Thompson, to (?) William Adair, London. (bro. of surgeon, John Adair d.1794 ?) ...................... Robert Adair of co. Longford, Dublin & "Hollybrook" Wicklow Ireland, was a distant cousin of William Adair of London (Secretary for Virginia, America). The Adairs seemed to be a tight-knit small clan in those days. Sir Robert Adair (bc.1659) and Robert Adair (bc.1675 dc.1737) both had houses near each other in Dublin and probably mixed in the same circles. Not sure if this Wolfe family had a property in England, near Frant, Sussex, near an Adair (Sam or Henry) from Dublin, Ireland. Notify Administrator about this message?
