The story from Stephen has been the closest to being correct than any I have heard. Yes, the Adairs were roality. When they left Ir. it was for religious reasons. The Adairs are Catholic. I am a direct ancestor of James Adair or better known as "THE CHEROKEE ADAIRS". My great grandmother was Mary Alice Adair (fullblood cherokee)I have the Adair bible that is 200 years old. Records were kept very to a "T".
