Adair's Md & PA

I recently visited the historical society in Elkton, Md.. I found some Adair/Adare's that could be of interest to someone. They are not from my family line (that I know of) but it was some pretty good info. that some one could maybe use.

This is what I have found so far;
LAND PURCHASE RECORDS

Andrew Meloan, Dorcas Price, Cert 125 1/2A, lib IC#K, f 588; Patent 125 1/2A, lib IC#G, f 691; Certificate in the name of Hannah Addare; Patent certificate #1

MARAGE RECORDS IN CECIL CO., MD.

NEWSPAPER ARTICALS
There was an artical on Margeret Adair 09/06/1862 I have not read the artical yet.

HEAD OF FAMILY'S 1790 CENCUS
John Adair 3-boys 5-girls 1-slave
Joseph Adair 5-boys 2-girls
William Adair 3-boys 2-girls 7-slaves

WILLS
Abraham Adair !834
Hannah Adair 1788
Lewis Adair 1834
William Adair 1832
These are wills I have not got a copy of yet. But after the holidays I will!

I have a copy of a will that was filed under the name of William Adair. that is hand Written. Unfortunately the spelling is not very well in it. In the will the last name is spelled ''Dare'' It refers to a William Jr. his son, His daughter Margaret and another daughter Mary. the will is dated Mar. 13, 1719 and signed by the commisioner of Cecil Co. I am not sure if this is an actual Adair's will.

There is also document that shows Hannah paying property taxes on property on Bohemia river. source date 1786

I hope that this is helpful in any way.

Thanks,
Kenny
