I agree that there is no definite answer. I admit using both for other's understanding of my pronunciation. I hate having to spell "it" for them. AY-dare is easier for "first-timers" to understand, and I use uh-DARE once people are familiar with spelling Adair. I personally prefer uh-DARE. I live in Texas and many here put the hard accent on "A". Well I guess it is their choice.By the way, being the fourth and in the presence of any three at one time, I go by Tom.
