This Joseph Vann may have produced descendants in the Cherokee Nation. (re: Vann House, GA) Most of the men mentioned in this information must have had families in the Cherokee Nation, as the names Adair, Vann, Welch, Downing, Davis, Emory, Harlan, Buffington, Cameron, and others continue as Cherokee family names today.
