Daniel Webster Adair was b. 2 May 1828 in GA and died 14 Jun 1872 in Tallapoosa Co., AL. Susan Catherine Lee was b. 23 Aug 1833 in Chambers Co., AL and died 22 May 1901 in Delta Co., TX. They were married 1 Aug 1852 in Tallapoosa Co., AL. Since Daniel Adair was only 9 years older than George A. Hancock, it's hard to see why George would have been "adopted" in the usual sense of the word. Perhaps he simply lived with or near the Adair family.
