Robert Samuel BRASHEAR during the Rev. War.
Family histories state R.S. Brashear and family moved from NC to Sullivan Co. before 1779. Son Samuel BRASHEAR joined militia late 1780 age 16.

A John ADAIR states in pension testimony that he served at Fort Christian under Capt. Samuel Brashear in 1780.

Suspect this was the father, Robert Samuel BRASHEAR, who, as son of Robert may have also been called Samuel. Alderman lists a Capt Samuel BRADSHEAR as having served at King's Mountain. The same John ADAIR is known to have helped plan strategy for same (Taylor, History of Sullivan).
