Jean, I have responded to Jean's msg...my response is #3507
As to my Margaret Adair...I have yet to establish her parents & siblings.I believe the most likely canidate
for her parents are James & Eleanor Adair...who moved from
Laurens, SC to TN c 1800...although there were some other
Adairs in TN...I believe they were the first. It is possible
that William & James Adair...located in White Co., TN in 1810 are possible canidates as siblings. In 1810 there was
a William McNabb living in White Co., TN. It is possible
that this William McNabb was either Elias's father or brother. In the 1790 York Co., SC census...there was a
younger & older William McNabb listed (Only McNabbs listed
in SC for 1790)could be related to My Elias.TN is very
short on early information, probably as a result of the
Civil War.I am aware of one other Elias McNabb, he was
located in TN at a later date...20-30 yrs.But the name
Elias had limited usage...and the younger Elias may have
had a father related to my Elias.Someday I hope that the
issue of James & Eleanor Adair maybe established.
Thanks for the reference Roane Co. 1805 Tax list...I was
aware of that reference, but that is the only one I have found in TN.
