Have spent the last couple of weeks back-tracking people who I know to have been associated with William and Bozeman in Wilkes/Jackson Co., Ga.
During a visit to the library yesterday for this purpose I found Bladen Co., N.C. Tax Lists 1768-1774.This seems to be in line with the John I referenced (wife: Jogee/Joyce).
1769: John O'Deer (1)Others here: Messick, Carter, Baxter, Daniel and Neil Beard
1770: From Carver's Creek to Brown's Creek*- John O'Dear (1) Others: Messick, John Boyd, Archibald McBride, Maturin Colvell, Joseph Price and son John, Sims, John Mason, Moore, Moon
1771: John Oder: (1) Others: Baxter, Jacob Messick, John Jones, Miller, and Archibald Malcolm and Duncan McBride.
1772: John Adair (1)
1774: John Adair (1) Others: Benjamin Arrinton (Harrington?), John Colson(?), Charles Bullock, John and Daniel Beard, Samuel Boazman, Maturin Colvill, John Coleman, Canady, Stephen and John Hollingsworth, John King, Messick, Moore, McBride, Musselwhite, McSwain, Daniel McLain, Pittman, Russ (Rusk?), Runnels, Gilbert Ramsey, Sims, Margaret Weir.
*Looked this up on my topo map and it fits with the description for the John in my previous message.
