John Adair: Estate of John Adair decd. Box 2 Pack 30 Probate Judge Office, Abbeville, S.C.Sarah Adair, James Adair, Joseph Adair and James Montgomery are bound unto John Thomas, Esq. Ord. Ninety Six Dist. in the sum of one thousand pds. sterling as admr. of John Adair Estate.Judge Thomas appointed Thomas Ewing, James Gragg (Craig?), Benjamin Adair as appraisers of the estate on June 9, 1784. Sale held on July 30, 1782.Those who bought: Sarah Adair, Thomas Hues, John Adair, Benjamin Adair, James Dillard, John McCreary, John Jones, John McDowell, Samuel Ewing, William Price, James Miller.
Hester, Carville: Deed Book D-l, P. 551. Clerk of Court Office Pickens, S.C. I Eli Fitzgerald of Pickens Dist. have granted, bargained, sold unto Carville Hester of the same place, all that tract of land whereon I now live for and in consideration of $1200. Cjontaining 200 acres lying on Cane Creek and Little River, it being the same which was by John Adair, Esq. devised to James Adair and from James Adair to Eli Fitzgerald. Adj. land of Ira G. Gambrell, Mrs. Sloan, Adam Lands so called and Thomas Margan (Morgan?). Dated Nove. 10, 1842 Signed: Silas Kirksey, N.P. and J.Q.
