Babsy Reid Adair,Greene Co.,Ga. 1800
In 1984 Lee W. Richardson wrote an article published in North Georgia Journal(Vol. 1, Summer,1984) about 5 brothers who "arrived in Georgia by way of northern Ireland and Lancaster County, Pa. about 1745." After migrating to N.Carolina the brothers fought in the Rev. War and thus qualified for bounty land in Georgia.
The land they found (between 1786-1792), was in Greene Co., Ga. One of the brothers named Alexander had a son named Templeton who became a "skilled silversmith" and "The first record we have of young Templeton . . . is a card in the Milledgeville ArgusAug. 10, 1813, wherein he advertises from Putnam County that he repairs watches . . . "
My ancestor, Babsy Reid, married in 1800, Greene Co., Ga,. Robert Adair. In addition to sharing a common time period in the same Greene Co., Ga., Babsy Reid has a grandson named William Templeton Adair.
My goal is to find a possible connection between Babsy Reid(probably born c1785) and descendents of one of those Reid brothers who came to Greene Co., Ga. All suggestions appreciated.
