Sidney Adair Calvit was my Step-GGGG Grandmother. Sidney "Cidia" Adair, born 22 Apr. 1799 in Georgia, daughter of Joseph Adair and Mildred "Milly" Walace Adair. Sidney died 9 Feb. 1885 in Rocky Springs, Claiborne Co., Mississippi. She is buried in the Rocky Springs Church Cemetery. Sidney married 4 times; #1 Joseph Calvit, married 29 Jun. 1817 in Iron Banks, Jefferson Co., MS. Joseph and Sidney had one son Thomas Morris Calvit, born 1818 and died 1825, buried in Rocky Springs, MS. #2 Vincent Lewis, married Jan. 1822 in Claiborne Co. #3 Amos Rundell, born 25 Dec. 1802, New Jersey, died 2 Jan. 1842 in Rocky Springs, MS, married 23 Jan. 1825 in Claibone Co. #4 Richard Harding, born 20 Oct. 1780, died 21 Apr. 1867 Rocky Springs, MS. Sidney Adair had a journal that she and Amos Rundell kept together that is in the Vicksburg Courthouse Museum. The genealogy publication, "Mississippi River Routes" at www.rootsweb.com/~msvgs/index.htm has printed this in Winter 1994, Volume 2, Number 2, pages 23-27. In another volume Mary Ella Lum Regan (1855-1948) wrote her memoirs and talked about living with her Great Aunt Sidney Harding with her mother Nancy Barrett Lum in the book, Winter 1999, Volume 7, Number 2, pages 67-72. Sidney was a very generous and kind lady that took in children and raised them as her own. She was very active in her church at Rocky Springs. I hope this has been of some help to someone.
