Hello Patrick,

I have looked through my Adair files and have not found anything on your Thomas Jefferson Adair. Can you give me any more information on them? I don't know if the following is your line or not.

Thomas Adair began to migrate to America during the first half of the 18th century. He came from Ulster counties in Ireland, and from Galloway, Scotland. His three sons came with him, (1) James Adair born abt 1709,(he wrote a book on the Indians); (2) Joseph Adair Sr., b. 1711. Most of the Adairs of SC, Ga, Al, and Tn are his descendants; (3) William Adair, b. 1719, settled in Waxaw Colony SC. After the Rev. War., he and his whole family moved to Kentucky.

I found this info. in the book,
Adair History and Genealogy, by James B. Adair, M.D. published 1924. I have an original copy owned by my grandmother, Druetta Adair's 1st cousin William Thomas Adair of Mississippi.

I think you can still purchase one from Southern Historical Press in SC.

Hope this has been of some help.

Evelyn Bell Crouch
