Shirley, don't know if Dennis O'Deere is connected to William, but did find the following this past week:
From Irish Settlers in America Vol. I
there is mention made of Denis Odeere in the land office records (believe this is of Baltimore) 1667. It says that the correct name of Odeere was Denis O'Deave (is the v possibly a typo?) and that was how it was spelled in his will. Also that his name had been down as Deer O'Dennis and that some of his descendants called themselves "Dennis".
Did you get the info I e-mailed to you before your S.C. trip?
