I would be surprised if he was from the Somerset (i.e. Taunton) Adairs. Other info I have on him is that he married Maria BARRELL (from Faculty Office Marriage Allegations dated 20 Jul 1791). His will is filed with the Bank of England (Bk 35 date 1801-3) where he is described as MD of Ayr, North Britain.
