I am so glad to come across this message. May be you can help me. I have been looking for any information I can find on Julia Rebecca Adair. Who was married to a Walter Franklin Fisk on February 13, 1902 (my great grand father). The only information I have on her is she was raised by Lizzie Barnett Fairbanks in North McAlester, Ok. A couple by the name of Adair came to McAlester in a covered wagon and while there, they gave Julia (about age 6) to a woman (name unknown) because they were physically and finaancially unable to care for her. She only stayed with this unknown woman for a short time. Julia remained the the Fairbanks until she was married to Walter Fisk. Julia and Walter had 7 children. Durning August 1916 Julia left her husband and 7 children and know body knows why. The children received 1 postcard after she left telling them she would visit them at Christmas but she never returned. Some years later (about 1961) her husband read an obituary that an unknown woman had passed away in a hotel in the state of Oregon. He thought this could be Julia.
This is the only information I have ever been able to find. So I am so glad to see your message. Please let me know if you have any information on her.
