If you haven't already, be sure to read "KINFOLKS" by William Curry Harllee (1935). This 3 Vol. set of books is out of print, but most larger libraries have the set. In Vol 2 it covers a lot of Adair families that were in NC in 1700s but migrated into SC. It also covers James Adair, doctor and author of "The History of the American Indians" (1755). I decend from Doctor Adair's daughter, Elizabeth, who married John Cade. They were in Robeson County,NC at time of the Revolution.
