You should read the 3 Vol. set of books, "Kinfolks" by William Curry Harllee. In Vol 2 it covers James Adair, noted Author and doctor. He lived among the Indians and
published "The History of the American Indians" in London in 1755. I decend from his daughter,Elizabeth, and have a hunch you may find your James in Vol. II.
Kinfolks was published in 1935 and is out of print but you can locate it in most large libraries. Let me know if you BINGO!
