It's great to hear from you! My information on the COUCH family and ADAIR family is pretty much limited to what my original message gave. I know of more ADAIR information because of the ROGERS connection, but am less familiar with that material. I am descended through Sarah Ellen COUCH's son, William Walker. Is the information I have so far correct?
I am especially frustrated because I keep running across lots of COUCHes in the records, and know that they are related, but it's difficult to tell how exactly. Do you have parents for Samuel Mitchell COUCH and Nancy Ellen ADAIR? And do you have any details on their leaving Alabama and the reasons why? I am absolutely fascinated by the to-ings and fro-ings between the different states and among the families. But it is a bit complicated to sort out.
The genealogy work which I'm able to do is tucked in between dealing with three small children, hence the footwork by way of computer. I'd much rather be digging in courthouse records, etc... but it is not a possibility right now.
Do you want any of the information which I have? I have a feeling you may have it already... Please let me know. Meanwhile, thanks for responding to the post! Astrea
