I found some information on John Lafayette ADAIR and remember seeing a query concerning him. The information I have for him comes from WILL ROGERS OFFICIAL GENEALOGY AND BIBLIOGRAPHY, by Pat Lowe, 1997 (available through the Will Rogers Memorial in Claremore, Oklahoma). John Lafayette ADAIR was born in Georgia. He married Elizabeth Alabama SCHRIMSHER (the aunt of Will Rogers). The text is a little confusing, but there may be a son, John M. (ADAIR?). John Lafayette ADAIR died and she remarried. The family moved to Bonham, Texas during the Civil War. Does this help any? Contact me if you want me to keep looking... Astrea faticatx@worldnet.att.net
