We have your John Adair, Sr., and show first wife as Ellen Crawford, and their son John Adair, Jr., DOB 11 Nov 1783, is the father of Elizabeth Adair, born in Madison Co., OH on 13 Jul 1806. Elizabeth is the wife of Bartholomew Melvin, who is the direct line to my wife, Deborah Jane Melvin. Many are researching this name and the Ohio Genealogical Society in Mansfield has a lot on this line.

Would like to find out if Adair Sr is the son of the John Adair who settled Knox Co., TN and was very prominent there. We believe he is but cannot get a Knoxville source to check this for us.
