Best of luck on your visit to Spain!
My great-great grandfather was Manuel Jose Acuņa Gutierrez. He was a general in the Spanish army in what I'm guessing was the mid-to late 1800s. He emigrated from Spain to Colombia. His wife's name was Zulia Muņoz Vargas. They had six children: Josefa, Teofila, Rosa, Celmira, Manuel and Abigail. I am one of Abigail's great granddaughters. I know that when Manuel emigrated to Colombia, he settled in Neiva, Huila, Colombia. My mother has Acuņa heritage on both her father's and mother's sides of the family. I do not know where in Spain Manuel was originally from. My mother mentioned something one time about the name Acuņa being of Basque origin. I do not have any information to support that.

Thank you for your information. It would be nice if we did have a link! Again, best of luck on your trip!
