I am curious what info you have on William Acton. I am a desendent through a William Henry Acton born 04/25/1860 in St Oswaldi, Cheshire, Chester, England. He was a Preist for the New Church of Colchester. His brother Alfred was a bishop for the same church. Henry evidentely traveled a bit between the United States and England. He married a Susan (Aitken?) {the church records show her name as Aitken however on a death record fo son Osmond -his mother's name is listed as Susan Grebel Acton} who was born in Philedelphia, PA, United States. The couple had 6 children - Osmond Acton, born about 1893; Marith Acton born about 1894; Stephen Karel born 06/19/1895 Elrad Noel born 12/25/1896; Eldin born About 1900; & Rinnah born about 1901. Per the census records in England in 1901 census Osmond, Martha, Karel & Elrad were all born in the United States...Rinah was not listed on the census (probably not yet born)....Stephen Karel was my grandfather -- he always told the family that he was born in the Chicago area but that his birth record was deystoyed in the Chicago fire. From information I have gathered William's Priesthood with the church of New Colchester brought him to the Illinois area. I have no idea where all he traveled. William's wife Susan rumor has it died in some kind of pague at a very young age.... but per the census record she was 41 years old in 1901 and had not yet had daughter Rinnah. In October 1920 William's son Stephen Karel had married Phoebe Baxter and came to the United States entering into the states under the relative of Phoebe's her father- George Baxter who resided in Buffalo, New York with Phoebe's bother Bernard. Evidently one of the main chapters of the church is in Byrn Athen PA, where William's brother - Alfred Acton also presided as a Bishop. I am curious to learn more about William Henry Acton's migration through the US. Somewhere I gained the information that my grandfather was actually born in Oakglen, IL as were several of the children. I can't locate where I got that information. I am curious if my Great grandfather is the one you refer to be as being from KY and if so when did he live there? Thanks!
