Help!!! I am trying to locate family information regarding a Betty Mae Acton. She is my biological mother. I was born 7/31/1961 in Daytona Beach, Florida. I believe she may have been in her forties or nearing them when I was born. She and my father - John "Howard" Stephen Bone traveled around with a circus (or more than one circus). My brother Donald Allen Bone was born 2 years later Nov. 12, 1963 in Daulphin, Alabama. My father's family was from southern Indiana. My brother and I went to live with our father's sister- Dollyann (Bone) Johnson and her Husband Gordon Johnson and their six children, Alice, Carolyn, Kathie, Marisue, Henry & Thomas. I grew up with this family and the eldest eventually adopted me in 1974. I am trying to find the family of my biological mother. I am not sure of her parents names but for some reason when I asked some of my cousins they seemed to think that the name William Acton stood out in their mind.... but they said they only ever called them Mr or Mrs Acton. On a visit I had with my mother when I was in high school she told me that she and her sister moved to the United States when they were teenagers. I know that Mr & Mrs Acton stayed with some of our family in IN around the late 50's or early '60's. I also know that my mother resided in Florida for a number of years after that... around the Deland or Orange County area. I believe her father lived there also for several years until he died sometime before 1979, I know this because he had already passed away upon my visit with my mother as a teen. I believe he made wicker baskets but I do not know if that was his primary source of income or not. My father was a magician with the circus and times got rough for them when the circus started having troubles. I believe my parents may have been married in Shawneetown, IL but i do not have an exact date to get the marriage records. If anyone out there can be of any assistance to me on this it would be greatly appreciated. My mother also had another child after my father and her had seperated. This child's name was Susan Marith.. I am not sure if she went by the last name of Bone or Acton.. I have reason to believe she may have gone to CA to live but do not know this for sure. If my mother is still living today she would probably be in or nearing her 80's and has a pacemaker. I would also like to know if she is still liiving? if so where? Please any help would be kindly appreciated.
