Hi! I note in your message that you make reference to Actons that settled in Montreal.
My Ggrandmother, Elizabeth Acton, settled in the Montreal area circa 1857, after marrying John Moor in Yorkshire. Her father's name was Samuel (according to marriage registry). It has long been suspected that
they were initially intended to go beyond the
Montreal area, but by the time they got to Montreal, they had had enough and stayed.
There is also mention of a Rev. Robert Acton, a brother to Elizabeth, living in 1891
in Montreal, who's occupation was "Immigration Chaplain". Any connection in any of this with you Acton line?
