Acres/Akes KY&VA

I have an ancestor who is supposedly Eliza Akes (born about 1820 in KY) who married a Joseph Keith in 1839 in Davies County, KY. Her father is Smith Akes. But, recently I found a copy of her original marriage record and her name is spelled Eliza Acres, which if that is her last name, would make her father Smith Acres. We have tried for a long time to connect Smith Akes to the Peter Akes family, but without any luck, and now I think it could be because he's not really related to that family. Does anybody have any information on a Smith Acres that would have been born in 1803 in Virginia, married Martha Chamberlain in Davies county, KY in 1820 and then he died about 1860 in Missouri. If anybody has a record of a Smith Acres fitting into their Acres family, please contact me. Thank you.
Lauretta
