We believe that our Acre's (they dropped the second "e") are descendants of William. I suspect that our earliest (Leonard Acre who married Sarah Ballard in Wayne Co., KY) is the son of John and grandson of William. Leonard's first son was named John. He also had a son named Ephriam. He also had daughters named Delana and Nancy (if he was a son of John, he also had a sister named Delana). That coupled with the fact that most of the other branches William's children have been fleshed out makes a least a pretty good case for Leonard's linage, but no proof.
