I was born with a severe amount of astigmatism in both eyes, and almost 6 units in my right eye alone. This always seemed to fascinate my eye doctors. I would have to have my glasses special ordered. I have since had three RK surgeries and although I still wear glasses, I have a much smaller amount of astigmatism. As I understand it, I am a direct descendant of Jasper Newton Acree.
