Hello, I´m an Acosta from Murcia, Spain. This is not a very common surname even here. Acosta has an galaic-portuguese origin (D´Acosta is common in my neighbourg country), it could mean something like "from the coast" there, but never in Spain, where means nothing ("to lay down" is "acostar" or "acostarse" (reflexive) in spanish). Do you know something about our surname in Granada (Spain)?
