OBITUARY
San Bernardino, CA – Mary Acosta Martin, 48, united with her Heavenly family on September 28, 2003, on a trip through the Mojave Desert, California.Mary was born on August 17, 1955, in Los Angeles, California, to Isidro and Digna B. Acosta. She resided in San Bernardino, once lived in Redlands, and was raised in Bloomington, CA.
She is survived by her daughter, Natalie Rebecca Martin of San Bernardino; brothers, Victor Banuelos of Highland and Jose Pepe Acosta of Bloomington; sister, Maria Delia Gomez, of San Bernardino; nephew, Victor Banuelos Jr. of San Bernardino; nieces Lisa and Dee Dee Banuelos of San Bernardino; a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins in Southern California; long-time companion, Eric Metzger of Gastonia, NC; and former husband, Ronald Martin, of Redlands, CA.She was graduated, with honors, from Bloomington High School in 1972 and was a graduate of San Bernardino Valley College in 1977.She was a unit secretary for the J.L. Pettis Veterans Administration Hospital and later for Loma Linda Medical Center, CA.She was an activist for charitable causes, fund raisers, and the cure for diabetes; she was a loving mother, dedicated employee, avid reader, and homemaker.She was married on October 21, 1978, at Calvary Chapel, in Riverside, California.Her only daughter was born on February 1, 1980, in Fontana, California.
Condolences may be sent to Mountain View Mortuary, 570 E. Highland Avenue, San Bernardino, CA 92404.Services are scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2003.Viewing 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. and funeral at 1:00 P.M. Her remains are to be cremated and will be retained by her daughter.
