Shedding New Night to Acosta

To Anyone who might be able to help.

Hi,

My father's name is Raul Antonio Acosta. Now, my father hardly ever mentions his past. I've never known any relatives on his side of the family. It's as though he just popped out of know where and married my mother. He's always insisted that he was born in New York in 1940 of Italian and Spanish (as in Spain) parents. However, there is a paper that I've found which documents that that he was born or registered in Cabo Rojo, PR, Feb. 17, 1935. Son of Raul Antonio Acosta and Carmen Consuelo Irizarry. My father's full and legal name is also listed as Raul Antonio Acosta Irizarry, on that document. However, in all present day legal papers, the Irizarry part of his name seems to have been dropped. I am very curious as to the origins of my father's hazy past and it seems that the dots that I've been connecting...are leading to that Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. If anyone can shed some light on this finding or add more info, could you please contact me. Thanks..

Cheers,
Ron Acosta in Miami
