If you are still out there, I have a Robert E. Acord (b. May 1928 & d. Feb. 2007) from Ross county, Ohio, and his children were Linda, Debbie, Sue and Robert Acord. His wife was Bessie Smith. Is this your line? If so, you will tie into my family, and I can take you back to their immigration in 1731.
Here is Robert E. Acord's obituary:
In loving memory of Robert E. Acord, 78, of Chillicothe who passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 15, 2007.
Robert was born May 17, 1928 in Ross County the son of Willard and Elizabeth England Acord.
He is survived by his wife of 58 yrs, Bessie Smith Acord, his daughters, Linda Ashworth, Debbie Allen and Sue Acord and his son Robert Acord all of Chillicothe; Several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister Ruth Fernau of Bainbridge and a brother Ray Acord of Florida.
Robert served in the US Army from 1947 to 1950 and he retired from the Mead after 44 yrs.
He was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
In honoring Robert's wish there will be no calling hours or funeral services observed. Arrangements by the Smith-Moore Funeral Home, Bainbridge.
