Looking for fellow researchers of the ACORD family (and spelling variants) of Muskingum county, Ohio.
This is what I have--
I am descended from Martha Acord, born 1847 Ohio who married Cornelius CULLINS, Muskingum, c 1866.
Martha was the daughter of Michael Jr. Acord, who was born c 1823 Ohio, and who married a Rachel UNKNOWN. I don't know when Michael Jr. died, but he was still living in 1890, according to the Veteran's Census, 1890. Michael Jr. served in the National Guard during the Civil War.
I believe Michael Jr. is the son of another Michael, Michael Sr, who was probably born in Pennsylvania, c 1803. Michael Sr appeared to have these children, according to the 1850 Muskingum Census:
Sarah age 17
Rhoda age 14
Asbury ? (spelling), male, age 10
Hannah age 6
George age 4.
It would appear that Michael Sr's wife was deceased as she is not showing up in this household.
Alos I believe Michael Sr's son, James, age 22, lived next door.
Can anyone help fill in some blanks about this family?
I have info to share on the descendants of Martha Acord Cullins.
