Hi Darrell and Tracy, there is much confusion over these 2 Valentines. I have at least 7 Valentines and 2 Martin Acords. I think Darrell you were correct in saying that this Valentine b 1853 is the son of Martin Van Buren Acord and Nancy Lambert. I originally got this information from another Acord researcher and he had this Valentine as the son of John William and Rebecca Rambo/Rambeau, but I believe this in not true, as others have thoroughly researched the Valentine from John William and Rebecca. Also I agree that this Valentine b 1853 is Valentine Thurman as he has a son named Elmer Valentine and Elmer has a son named Therman Valentine. Elmer died in Mich. in 1962. Does any of this make sense??? So this is what I think is correct, but will not bet the farm on it.
Valentine Thurman b 1853 m Sarah Bell
This Valentine's parents were Martin Van Buren Acord and Nancy Lambert. Martin's parents were Job(Jacob) Acord and Mary (Polly) Harper, and Job's parents were John Eckert/Eagart/Acord and Rachel Combs.
The other Valentine b 1861 m Minnie Williford. this Valentine was the son of John William Acord and Rebecca Rambo. John William was the son of Valentine "Felt" and Elizabeth Oliver. Valentine "Felt" was the son of John and Rachel. So Valentine "Felt" and Job(Jacob) were brothers.
Hope we can put our minds together and figure it out.
Judy
