I'd love to hear from anyone who has any info on the Acklam family in East Yorks. I carried out research in the UK before emigrating to the States but only got as far back as the early 1800s. My ancestor John Acklam was born in 1801 in Great Driffield and his father's name was George. They were both farmers. As Acklam is an unusual name I noted down any references I found and I'd be happy to pass on information to others researching this name.
