Rupert,The link to Henry Ingram is referred to in Robert Ingram's Obituary which appeared in "The Gentleman's Magazine" September 1804. I will provide this obituary in parts as it is very long.
'Obituary for Robert Ingram September 1804:
August 3rd at his son's house at Seagrave near Loughborough aged 77, the Reverend Robert Ingram M.A.,Vicar of Wormington and Boxted County Essex, formerly of Corpus Christi Cambridge of which he was a sometime fellow, B.A. 1749, M.A. 1753. Mr Ingram was of the same family which was enobled in 1661 by the title of Irvin. We believe he was of an older branch and nearlt allied to the title; and probably was the only surviving male relative in the Ingram line as the title is now extinct or in abeyance. Many of the family have been in a mercantile capacity. Arthur Ingram the grandfathe rof the first Viscount who purchased Temple Newsham in Yorkshire the residence of the Irvine family, was a wealthy merchant. Mr Ingram's father was also a London tradesman but relinquished business early in life about the same time that he married Theodosia the younger daughter of J. Gascoigne Esq., a gentleman that had been employed under Government in a diplomatic capacity was for some time the collector of Royal revenue in Minorca. By her he had six children viz Anne who died an infant.
2. Theodosia who was married to Francis Becker Esq., of Beverley in Yorkshire and died in 1762.
3. Gascoigne who died young at sea.
4.Robert, the subject of this memoir who was born at Beverley March 9, 1726-7, to which place his father had lately removed.
5. Anne, who died a maiden lady in 1792.
6. Sarah who was married to Cuthbert Shafto Esq., ( now Sir Cuthbert, Knight of Bavington Co. Northumberland) and who died in 1775.'
