Allen: Taking the liberty of an assumption, I would say he was a relative or good friend of Henry KERBY since Henry stood bond for Christopher's marriage. Further, Henry named one of his sons Christopher Acklen. I suspect, but am still looking for good documentation to whether the Martha, whom Cristopher m. was either the sister or dau/o Henry. I suspect sister since Henry's son Christopher was one of his older c.
What is your interest in this individual? What do you know? What surnames are you researching? I'm willing to share.
As to his parents...I think we might begin be looking in Hinshaw's Quaker records and in Lunenburg, VA for possible connections of a family with similar spelling/sounding name plus ship's records for years immedately preceeding his known location in Rutherford Co., TN ab 1810. Military records...have you checked there? I haven't; will contact someone who has been doing research on him a number of years now & see what they have done so far. Another possibility is any newspaper from any of the above locations from before this date & until he died.
Doing this with one hand...L. Broke R arm/wrist Xmas eve. Will correspond better...& better spelling when I get two hands again.
