Lewis Dowty Madison County AL 1800: Catherine Acklin and Lewis Dowty were my g-g-grandparents. Their son, Edward, and his family are on the 1850 Tippah Co. MS census. Edward's wife, Sarah "Sallie", and six children are listed on the 1970 census for the same county. Edward and Sallie named their first son Lewis. Their youngest son, Sampson Pierce, was my grandfather. I am just now learning about this family and would like to know more.
