Information on Elzira Acklin Steele's connection to Joseph Acklin is found in "The Cumberland Presbyterian," June 7, 1888; page 2; Archibald Jackson Steele; Cumberland Presbyterian Minister: 1800 - 1887
"On September 12, 1826, Brother Steele was happily married to Miss Eliza B. [sic], daughter of Captain Joseph Acklin, of Franklin county, Tenn....."
"With the assistance of his [Rev. Steele] dearly beloved brother-in-law, the Rev. N. T. Power, he had three fine revivals in neighborhoods not many miles from his home ....."
Elizabeth Adaline Acklin, d/o Joseph, married Nathaniel T. Power[s].
