Yes he was. In the book, "Annals of Southwest Virginia 1769 - 1800 by Lewis Preston Summers", Appendix I identifies Revolutionary Soldiers. It shows a Christopher Ackland. Also, in the "Roster of Texas Daughters Revolutionary Ancestors dated 1976, it shows a Christopher Acklen. I can't find the DAR file number at present. My mother's oldest sister(their father was an Acklin) applied in Arkansas and is a member of the DAR because of Christopher Acklin(Acklen) or whatever.
